ICON mill:
I rescued this gem from being melted in 1993. It provided my first
introduction to 3-axis milling, and while I use it very seldom now,
I will always remember how dramatic (and difficult) adding a third dimension
was for me to get used to. I was not very accomplished at 3D toolpath
generation back then, and found this tool most useful for drilling glass,
using diamond bits. Travel: 12"x12"x2". I spoke with
ICON Industries soon after I dropped $200 for this thing at a local
scrapper's. It's original use was applying solder-mask to circuit boards,
and it cost ~$25,000.
